A photographer who waits for the quiet moment.

I'm Mara — a Mexican-American photographer based in Mexico City and frequently traveling. I work mostly with couples and editorial clients who care about narrative as much as the image itself.

My background is in photojournalism. I bring that observational eye to every shoot, whether it's a wedding in Oaxaca, a portrait session in Brooklyn, or an editorial assignment for a quarterly print magazine.

Before you inquire

How far in advance should I book?
For weddings: 9 – 12 months. I take on roughly 14 wedding commissions per year. Editorial work: 4 – 8 weeks lead time. Portraits: usually 2 – 4 weeks.
Do you travel internationally?
Yes — about half my weddings are destination. Travel within Mexico is included; international weddings have a travel addendum based on location and length.
What's your style?
Documentary, with a quiet eye. I observe more than I direct. Expect honest, narrative-driven images — not staged moments or heavily-Photoshopped retouching.
How long until I see my photos?
Weddings: 6 – 8 weeks for the full gallery, 48 hours for a 10-image preview. Portraits and editorial: 2 weeks.
Do you offer albums or prints?
Yes — handmade albums and archival prints through partner labs in Mexico City and Berlin. Pricing in the booking conversation.
